Frequently Asked Questions

  • When you partner with me, I am invested in you. My commitment to your healing goes beyond our session time. I study relevant texts and seek out supportive resources with you in mind. I attend advanced trainings and consultation groups led by highly qualified clinicians to ensure my skills meet your needs.

My rate is $190 per 50-minute session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale or reduced fee spots.

At this time, all of my sliding scale slots are full. If you’d like information about low-fee referrals and resources, please do reach out!

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

The No Surprises Act requires health care providers, including psychotherapists, to provide an estimate of expected charges for medical services to people who don’t have insurance or who are not using their insurance to pay for services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.

  • Appointments with me are weekly. When you and I agree on a session time, this time will be reserved especially for you. We may also consider more frequent sessions if you would prefer.

  • On the inter-webs! I am located solely online. We will meet over a secure video link.

We may also decide to have some sessions securely by phone, depending on the circumstances.

Because I am licensed in the state of California, I am only able to see clients who are physically located in California.

  • Once you and I decide to practice together, we will co-create an intentional space. Everyone has a different speed at which a trusting relationship is built.

I find that I tend to work with folx in a long-term way because lasting change takes time.

  • Schedule a free 30-ish minute connection phone call or video meet-up to get a sense of us practicing together. I listen to what folx are looking for (and not looking for), answer questions, and share honestly about whatever it is that you'd like to know about my practice.

If we decide we’re clinically compatible, we’ll get into more detail about our next steps like scheduling, payments, and paperwork before our first meeting.

  • I am currently not a provider recognized by insurance companies.

It’s possible that your insurance company will reimburse you for some of your treatment costs with proof of a mental health diagnosis. I encourage you to check with your insurance to see if their coverage meets your financial needs.

Here are a few sample questions to ask:

Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

How much do I have to pay before insurance starts to pay? (AKA deductible)

How many sessions per year is covered by my health insurance?

What is the amount covered for each therapy session?

Does my doctor have to approve my therapy?

  • My practice is centered on individual therapy for folx 18 years old and older.
